August 20, 2019 00:00:00

Trade activities in Banglabandha Land Port in the northern-most district of Panchagarh have resumed after a ten-day suspencion for Holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims, reports BSS.

The land port went on vacation for ten days on August 9 on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Azha, officials and traders said.

Since then, all kinds of export and import activities remained suspended for ten days between India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan due to the holiday, said Mehedi Hasan Khan Babla, the Export-Import Association President.

However, the immigration section at Banglabandha Land Port functioned for the passport-holding passengers during the long holiday, officials said.

"Immigration activities for travelers however continued as usual though the import-export activities in the land port remained closed," said port Emigration officer Ijar Uddin.
