Bihar girl alleges gang rape by school teachers, students

BIHAR, July 07 (Reuters): A 13-year-old girl has alleged that she was gang raped by 18 people, including her school principal, two teachers and 15 schoolmates for seven months in India's Bihar.

The teen, a resident of Chhapra district in Bihar, and a student Dipeshwar Bal Gyan Niketan, a private school in Parsagarh village, has alleged that the accused filmed the act and have blackmailed her ever since her father went to jail in December of last year, according to Indian media.

The survivour, who was brought to a Chhapra hospital for medical examination, said some school students gang-raped her in the school lavatory in December and made a video of the crime.

The students blackmailed and raped her afterwards, she said.

According to the girl, she reported the incident to the principal, but he, and two other teachers began to join in the rapes, The Times of India reports.

The girl said her ordeal continued for seven months until her father was released from jail. She then approached the police with a complaint against the principal, teachers and her schoolmates, reported NDTV News.

A medical board has been formed to investigate the allegation.
