NATO chief voices concern

about Chinese missiles

BERLIN, Nov 13: NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday voiced concern about Chinese as well as Russian medium-range missiles and urged Beijing to join an international nuclear arms control treaty. "We see that China is investing heavily in new, modern weapons, including new missiles," Stoltenberg said on German ZDF public television, according to the German translation. — AFP

Fewer foreign students coming

to US for second year in row

NEW YORK, Nov 13: The number of international students entering US colleges and universities has fallen for the second year in a row, a nonprofit group said on Tuesday, amid efforts by the Trump administration to tighten restrictions on foreigners studying in the United States. New enrollments for the 2017-18 school year slumped 6.6 per cent compared with the previous year, according to an annual survey released by the Institute of International Education. — Reuters

Jury finds driver guilty of

murdering six in Australia

MELBOURNE, Nov 13: A driver who deliberately mowed down shoppers in the heart of Australia's second-largest city, killing six people and injuring 27, was found guilty of murder by a jury on Tuesday. James Gargasoulas, 28, pleaded not guilty to the January 2017 rampage on Melbourne's Bourke Street, which police determined was not terror-related. — AFP

Migrant woman dies in accident

ATHENS, Nov 13: Police say a woman died and another nine people injured when a car full of migrants who had illegally entered Greece crashed on a northern road. The accident occurred some 40 kilometres (25 miles) northeast of Thessaloniki Tuesday. — AP
