American to die for killing wife in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 04: A Malaysian court sentenced an American to death by hanging on Tuesday after finding him guilty of murdering his ex-wife, his lawyer said. Gerald Wayne Mickelson (63) was accused of strangling Guilda Mickelson (62) during an argument at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur in November 2016. Myanmar lawyer donates $1.0m to Rohingya

YANGON, Sept 04: Aurora Prize Laureate Kyaw Hla Aung, a noted lawyer and activist from Myanmar, on Tuesday announced he would donate his $1 million award money towards humanitarian relief work among Rohingya refugees. He was given the award this year for his fight against injustice and advocating on behalf of the Rohingya people. — PTI
