Pakistan clash leaves seven soldiers, nine militants dead

ISLAMABAD, Sept 23 (Xinhua): The Pakistani army said on Sunday that nine terrorists and seven soldiers were killed in an anti-terrorist operation carried out in North Waziristan district in northwestern part of the country.

An army statement said that the security forces killed nine terrorists in clashes when the security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in Gharlamai and Spera Kunar Algad in North Waziristan, a district bordering Afghanistan.

Giving details of the operation, the statement from the army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said a group of terrorists was reported to have infiltrated in Pakistan and was hiding in a compound in the district.
