12 held with diesel while smuggling to Myanmar

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 04 (BSS): The Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested 12 smugglers, including 8 Rohingya citizens, from the Patenga area in the city for attempting to smuggle diesel to Myanmar.

The Coast Guard seized gas cylinders and cash amounting to Taka 6.24 lakh from their possession, said Sabbir Alam Sujan, Coast Guard Media Officer.

He said the operation was carried out based on secret information in the outer anchorage area of the Bay of Bengal under Patenga Police Station in Chattogram at 6:00 am on Saturday.
