15 char families receive tubewells from LGSP

GAIBANDHA, May 12 (BSS): A total of 15 char families of Fazlupur union under Fulchhari upazila in the district got tubewells from the Local Government Support Project (LGSP) on Friday afternoon.

A simple function was also held on the premises of the upazila complex building at the initiative of upazila administration under the LGSP.

Deputy speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad Advocate Fazley Rabbi Miah distributed the tube wells to the hard core people of the char union as the chief guest.

Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Miah said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had also been working for the welfare of backward and underprivileged char people of the country through implementing different projects there.

The char people had been brought under various facilities including electricity supply and road and academic building construction of the state in a bid to change their socio-economic condition, he added.
