37 RU students to receive gold medals

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, July 08: Some 37 former students of Rajshahi University (RU) will get gold medals and certificate into different categories for their outstanding results in the academic career at graduation and post-graduation level.

The decision came from the 43rd meeting of RU Award Committee recently while vice chancellor Prof. M Abdus Sobhan was in the chair, AHM Aslam Hossen, deputy registrar of academic section confirmed the news.

Attending as the chief guest Nurul Islam Nahid, Education Minster will hand over the gold medals and the certificate in an award giving ceremony at 10am on July 26 at the university senate building.

Among others, Prof. Harun-Or-Rashid, Vice-Chancellor of National University (NU) and Dr. Zaid Bakht, Chairman of Agrani Bank Limited will address as special guests respectively while RU vice-chancellor Prof. M Abdus Sobhan will preside the ceremony.

The Agrani Bank Gold Medal and Certificate will be given to the 32 meritorious students who can secure the first position among the first class firsts under eight faculty in their Honours exam in the academic year of 2015 and 2016 and Masters exam in the academic year of 2014 and 2015 as well.

Besides, three students of Philosophy Department under Arts Faculty will receive "Dr. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed Gold Medal & Certificate" those stood first class first positions at the Masters' exam in the academic year of 2015, 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Twice top meritorious students of MBBS program in the exam year of 2016 and 2017 under Medical faculty will get "Dr A.K Khan Gold Medal and Certificate".
