95pc work on Gopalganj UZ water supply project complete

GOPALGANJ, Apr 09: Work on the upazila water supply development and extension project in Patgati union under Tungipara upazila is going on in full swing.
Sources said, around 95 per cent work has already been completed.
Tungipara and Kotalipara upazila administrations are jointly implementing the project.
According to the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), Gopalganj, in July, 2017, the department took possession of land on the premises of Patgati Union Council for implementing the project at a cost of Tk 91.25 million.
Surface water treatment plant (SWTP), overhead tank of 150 cubic meter capacity, floating intake, pump house, pipeline, water meter, electrical fixtures and boundary wall are included in the work.
Two construction companies - ABM Water Company and Messrs MT-SS and AR Consortium - took the responsibility for construction of the work under the supervision of the DPHE.
Dipok Chandra Talukder, executive engineer of DPHE, Gopalganj, said the project is almost complete. "I think the contractors will be able to finish the work within June 30 this year."
Milon Hossain Molla, chairman of Patgati union, said after completion the project, people of Patgati, Gamadanga, Siramkandi and Gohardanga villages under Patgati union will be able to enjoy safe water supply facilities.
