Abducted college student found dead in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, Mar 20 (UNB) A college student, who was abducted on February 23, was found dead at Shibganj Maheshpur in Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon district early Thursday, despite his family paid Tk 2.5 million (25 lakh) in ransom.

Milon Hossain, son of Panjab Ali of Chapapara village in Pirganj upazila was abducted by his friend Sejan Ali on February 23 and the kidnappers demanded Tk 0.3 million (3 lakh) as ransom from the family of Milon.

As Milon's family agreed to pay the ransom, the kidnappers demanded Tk 0.5 million (5 lakh), then Tk one million (10 lakh) and then Tk 1.5 million (15 lakh). Later, they realised Tk 2.5 million (25 lakh) as ransom from the family of Milon on March 09.

As per the instruction of the abductors, Milon's father threw the bag containing ransom money from the moving Dhaka-bound intercity train 'Ekota Expres' from Panchagarh at Senua.

After getting the ransom money, the abductors asked Milon's family to take Milon from Dinajpur Rail Station.
