BADC allots 20 tonnes of mustard seed for Jamalpur, Sherpur peasants

JAMALPUR, Oct 29 (BSS): The Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) allotted 20 tonnes of mustard seed in Jamalpur and Sherpur district for current Rabi season.

According to Seed Marketing, a wing of BADC, 10 tonnes of mustard seed will be sold among the farmers in the two districts through its 355 registered dealers under the quality seed distribution programme.

Sources said 500 kg of BARRI-14 variety and 6,500 kilogram of BARRI-9 variety in Jamalpur district while 1,500 kg of BARRI-14 variety and 1,500 kg of BARRI-9 variety in Sherpur district were allotted.

On the other hand, 10 tonnes of mustard seed will be disbursed among small and marginal farmers in an incentive programme in the two districts.
