Bagerhat road accident kills truck driver

BAGERHAT, July 15 (UNB): A truck driver was killed as his truck hit a roadside tree at Mulghor on the Khulna-Mawa Highway under Fakirhat upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Kamal Hossain of Noornagar in Khulna.

Officer-in-Charge at the Katakhali Highway Police Station Md Rabiul Alam said that the Barishal-bound goods-laden truck coming from Mongla crashed into a roadside tree after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving him dead on the spot and his helper injured.

Fire Service members recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. Injured helper Shamim Hossain, 28, was also admitted to the hospital.
