Construction work on Sk Rehana Textile Engineering College nearing completion

GOPALGANJ, Feb 03: Establishment of Sheikh Rehana Textile Engineering College, Gopalganj is going on full swing and 80 per cent work of the project have already been completed.

According to official sources, Public Works Department (PWD), Gopalganj was entrusted with the task of establishing the college on five acres of land in January 2015 and the authority further acquired three acres of land in the same area in June, 2018 for the extension of the area at Ghonapara under Sadar Upazila in Gopalganj.

Sources said, Galaxy JV, PR Engineering, M/S Benjir Construction, Monir Traders, Sharab Traders with others took the responsibility for the construction work under the supervision of PWD, Gopalganj.

Those companies started the work at the cost of Tk 98.04 million.

Land development, academic building (four storied), cotton spinning shed (four storied) weaving & knitting shed (two storied), dyeing shed (two storied), workshop building with library (two storied), male hostel (150 bedded, 4 storied), female hostel (75 bedded, 4 storied), principal's quarter (two storied), officers' dormitory (six storied), officer's quarter (six storied), staff dormitory (six storied), sub station building, internal road, drain, boundary wall, sanitary & water supply, electrification, garage, mosque with other facilities were included in the project.

When contracted, Amit Kumar Biswas, Executive Engineer, PWD, Gopalganj told The FE that 80 per cent work of the project have already been done and rest of the work of the project will be completed on schedule, June 30, this year. We are collaborating the work and skilled manpower and contractors are involved with this work, the Executive Engineer said.
