Dengue situation in Rajshahi division ‘under control’

Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon says it’s spreading

BOGURA, Sept 08: The civil surgeon office sources said on Sunday overall dengue situation in Rajshahi division is under control.

Deputy Director of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital Musa Al Mansur said, "We still have some dengue patients at the Sadar Hospital and upazila health complexes."

Some 11 patients have been infected with the fever in the last 24 hours in Bogura district, said deputy civil surgeon Dr Mostafizur Rahman. Besides, a total 46 are taking treatment across the district including the twelve upazila health complexes.

Civil Surgeon Dr Md Azizul Islam of Natore said dengue fever has infected three in the last 24 hours. Some three are taking treatment across the district.

Two patients have been admitted to the Lalpur Upazila Health Complex and one at Singra Health Complex.

Officials at Pabna Civil Surgeon office said some 20 dengue patients are taking treatment across the region when 10 patients has been infected with dengue fever in the last 24 hours in the district.

Civil Surgeon Dr Zahid Nazrul Choudhury of Chapainawabganj said one person have been infected with dengue fever in the last 24 hours as the fever is still spreading across the region.

Some eight persons are taking treatment across the district for getting rid of the disease. A total 287 people have already affected with the disease from July 01 to September 07 in the district.

Civil Surgeon Dr Md Zahidul Islam of Siraganj district said dengue fever has infected seven persons in the last 24 hours. Some 38 are taking treatment across the district. A total 726 people have already been affected with the fever. Some 688 patients have given release as they are now quite healthy.

Civil Surgeon Dr Shams Uddin of Joypurhat said dengue fever has been infected two persons in the last 24 hours. Some two are taking treatment across the district. A total of 86 people have already affected with the fever.

Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mumunul Haque of Naogaon said dengue fever has infected two persons in the last 24 hours. Some four persons are taking treatment across the district among. A total 240 people have already affected with the fever.

Our Sylhet Correspondent adds: With an almost unchanged scene on the overall dengue situation, nine patients were admitted into the different hospitals in the Sylhet division including the Sylhet city during the last 24 hours.

It is almost same in the region for the last few days, said the officials. Of the patients admitted in 24 hours till Sunday morning, three persons were admitted to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) while none was admitted in Sylhet district or Sunamganj district.

Five were admitted to Habiganj District Hospital and one to Moulvibazar District Hospital. There had been no admission of patients in Sunamganj district for more than a week, officials informed..

Director of Health, Sylhet, Debpada Roy told this correspondent this afternoon the number of dengue patients has come down below 10 daily in the last few days. Specially it has shown much improvement in Moulvibazar and Sunamganj as well as in Sylhet, he added.
