Eight get life term for killing man in Tangail

TANGAIL, June 28 (UNB): A Tangail court on Sunday convicted eight people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing a sexagenarian man in 2022.
Tangail Additional District and Session Judge Foysal Al Mamun handed down the punishment.
The lifers are-Dabir Uddin, 65 and his five sons-Rafik Mia, 45, Tofazzal Hossain, 35, Maidan
Ali, 33,
Hashem Ali, 42 and Abdur Rahman, 38, Shilpi Begum, 32, wife of Hashem Ali and Hazrat Ali, 50, son of Insad Ali of Sadar upazila. Among them Hashem Ali tried in absentia.
According to the prosecution, Mohammad Ali, 70 of Choto Binnafoir (Charpara) village in Sadar upazila of Tangail district was
stabbed and beaten to death by the convicts following an
enmity over the demarcation of boundary wall of their house on July 24, 2022.
Marjina Akter, daughter of Mohammad Ali filed a case with Sadar Police Station.
On November 30, 2022, police submitted chargesheet against the eight convicts.
