Faridpur, Bogura road accidents kill three

A total of three persons were killed in separate road accidents in Faridpur and Bogura districts on Wednesday, report agencies.
In Faridpur, two people were killed and 10 others injured when a bus overturned on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district on Wednesday.
One of the deceased was identified as Shariful Islam, supervisor of a bus while the identity of another could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred around 1:30 pm at Suadi when the Narail-bound 'Narail Express' bus from Dhaka lost control and overturned in front of CCPL
Petrol Pump, leaving two killed on the spot and 10 others injured, said sub-inspector of Bhanga Highway Police Station Mamun.
The injured were taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.
In Bogura, a man was killed in a road accident when crossing a highway in Shajahanpur
upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Maqbul Hossain, 58, a resident of the Majhira Lekpar area. He had previously served in the Bangladesh Army as a sergeant.
The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Bogra highway at Majhira Stand area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station Touhidul Islam confirmed the matter and said Maqbul Hossain was hit by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the highway and died on the spot.
Police said efforts are underway to identify the vehicle involved in the accident, and necessary legal action is being taken in connection with the incident.
