Feeding of anti-worm medicine begins in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Oct 23: Feeding of anti-worm medicine among the children has been started in the district. The week-long programme continued from October 22 to 28 is to be observed across the district. Deputy Commissioner of Nilphamri Zakir Hossain opened the programme in Shahi Para Government Primary School Saturday.

A total of 3,84,000 children aged between five to twelve years would be fed the medicine in Nilphamari district. Sources said, a total of 2,097 primary schools have been selected as the venue to be fed medicine.

To make the drive successful extensive preparations has been taken by the District Administration and the Civil Surgeon Office. Volunteers comprising teachers, students, NGO employees, youths both male and female have been selected and listed to make the initiative successful.

Civil Surgeon of Nilphamari Abdur Rashid said to make the initiative successful two workshops were arranged earlier one in the conference room of DC office and another in the conference room of Civil Surgeon office.
