Four bodies exhumed in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Oct 21 (UNB): The bodies of four people, who died allegedly after drinking toxic spirit, were exhumed on Tuesday for autopsy.

The bodies were exhumed in presence of assistant commissioner and executive magistrate Nurul Huda Monir from 8:30 pm to 12:30 pm.

The four deceased were Laltu Hossain of Pirojkhali village, Selim, 45, of Khejura village, Kheder Ali, 50 of Nafarkandi village, and Shahidul Molla of Shankarchandra village.

On October 09, six people consumed liquor at Dingedah Bazar and fell sick.

On October 12, all the victims died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police conducted the autopsy of two people while the family members of four other victims completed the burial process soon without conducting any autopsy.

Inspector (operation) Hossain Ali, said Rakib, brother of the deceased Laltu, filed a case with Sadar Police Station.

Later, police filed a petition before the court seeking exhumation of the bodies and following

the court order the bodies were exhumed.

However, the bodies were taken to Sadar Hospital morgue and legal steps will be taken after getting the autopsy report.
