Girl commits suicide in Barisal

BARISAL, Mar 05 (UNB): A college girl allegedly committed suicide by taking poison over a family feud in Borakotha village of Uzirpur upazila on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Rabeya, 18, daughter of Abdul Gani Hawlader of Borakotha village.

Rabeya, a student of Borakotha Union Degree College, lived with her mother Mukul Begum in their house, said locals adding that after a feud with her mother she consumed poison on Sunday night.

She was first taken to upazila health complex from where she was referred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College.

Later on Monday morning, she died at the hospital, said Ward Master Abul Kalam of the hospital.
