Gopalganj celebrates Saraswati Puja

GOPALGANJ, Feb 5: Students of Hindu community here celebrated the Saraswati Puja in a befitting manner Tuesday.

Puja mandaps were erected here in most of the educational institutions of the town, including Bangabandhu University College, Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mohila College, Gopalganj Model College, N Haque College, Lal Mia City College, M.H. Khan College, Nazrul Islam College and Sabera Rauf College.

A large number of Hindu devotees including students and their guardians assembled at the puja mandaps for offering prayers to the Goddess. After prayer they distributed 'Proshad' among the participates.

A traditional song of Bengalee society "Kabigan" was organised by the devotees of Bangabandhu University College Wednesday evening. Two renowned groups of singes headed by one Moni Shangkor Sarker and Nishikanta Sarker.
