Habiganj, Ctg, Jashore road accidents kill three

Three persons were killed in separate road accidents in Habiganj, Chattogram and Jashore districts on Thursday, reports UNB.

In Habiganj, a youth died in a road crash on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Shayestaganj upazila of Habiganj just two days before his wedding, said police on Thursday morning.

The deceased Shah Alam, 26, son of Sabed Ali was returning home from Habiganj town by a motorcycle after shopping for the wedding scheduled on Friday, police and family said.

The would-be groom's companion Suyem Mia, 25, also died in the Wednesday night's accident involving their bike and a speeding truck.

The speeding truck rammed into their bike from behind when they fell on the highway after the bike lost control in Nurpur area of the upazila on Wednesday evening, witnesses said.

The accident left Suyem dead on the spot and Shah Alam critically injured, said Shayestaganj police station's Officer-in-Charge Taimur Islam.

In Chattogram, a banker died in a collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-run autorickshw on Chattogram-Rangamati road in Hathazari upazila of Chattogram on Wednesday.

The deceased was Kamrul-Ibne-Hasan, son of Mohammad Hasan in Chadarliahat area under Fatikchhari upazila of the district and an official of Dutch Bangla Bank's Agrabad branch in the port city . Police said Kamrul was going to the city from his home when the bus his his auto rickshaw in front of a private hospital near Hathazari Central Eidgaon, leaving him dead on the spot.

In Jashore, a 45-year-old man died in a collision between two trucks on the Jashore-Khulna highway in Abhaynagar upazila on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain helper of one of the trucks. He was from Naogaon district, said Nawapara Highway Police Station OC Mahabur Rahman.
