Internal food grains procurement begins in Natore district

NATORE, May 13 (BSS): The government has launched internal procurement of paddy, rice and wheat in the district on Monday.

Local parliament member also General Secretary of district unit of Awami League Md. Shafiqul Islam Shimul inaugurated the procurement at a programme.

District Food Controller Shafiqul Islam and joint secretary of district Awami League Syed Mortaza Babul were present.

This year the government has set a target to buy 655 tonnes of wheat, 2,115 tonnes of paddy and 14,206 tonnes of parboiled rice and 540 tonnes of Atap rice.

Procurement of wheat and rice would continue till June 30 and August 31 respectively.
