Khulna eyes bumper Aman paddy yield

KHULNA, Nov 05 (BSS): Farmers are expecting to have a bumper Aman paddy production in the district this season.

DAE officials said they are expecting a record yield of Aman due to favourable weather, availability of fertiliser and insecticides.

The sources said, farmers have successfully cultivated Aman paddy on 92,425 hectares of land exceeding the target.

The DAE set a target to bring 90,192 hectares of land for Aman cultivation with a production target of 2, 64,417 tonnes of rice.

A total of 67,312 hectares of land were brought under upashy paddy variety cultivation with a production target of 2,22,953 tonnes.
