Kushtia, Bhola road crashes kill three

Three persons were killed in separate road accidents in Kushtia and Bhola districts on Saturday, report agencies.

In Kushtia, two people were killed when a bus crashed into a motorcycle on Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway at Bottoil in Sadar upazila of Kushtia district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Noyon Islam, 25, and Rony, 26, both were workers of Kiam Metal Industry.

The accident occurred around 7:30 am when the bus hit the motorcycle carrying Nayan and Rony while they were going to their office, leaving them dead on the spot.

Angered by the accident, local people put up barricades on Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway, creating traffic jams on both sides of the highway, said Joydeb, sub-inspector of Chourhash Police camp. However, police are trying to bring the situation under control.

In Bhola, a man was killed in a road accident in front of Elisha Baghar Hawla Secondary School in Sadar upazila in Bhola on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as M Mostafa, 62, a retired school teacher of Baghar Hawla Government Primary School in the area and son of late Maulana Anwar Ullah Huzur of Purba Elisha Maulvirhat of the upazila.

The accident took place around 6.30 am when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit Mostafa from behind, leaving him injured

critically, said Hasnain Ahmed Parvez, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhola Police Station.
