Lightning kills two in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Sep 28 (UNB): Two people were killed and a woman was injured after being struck by lightning in Tanore and Mohanpur upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

In Tanore upazila, Emdadul Haque, 35, son of Zahir Uddin, a resident of Natipara village, died instantly when a thunderbolt struck him while was working in a paddy field, leaving him dead on the spot, said Rezaul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Tanore Police Station.

On the other hand, Rakib Hasan, 17, a college student, son of Abdul Latif, a resident of Sinhaamara village in Mohanpur upazila died on the spot as a thunderbolt hit him, while Khaijan Begum, 42, was injured and taken to upazila health complex said, SM Masud Parvez, Officer-in-Charge of Mohanpur Police Station.
