MAGURA, Nov 22: Outstanding success has been achieved in producing nutless kul in Magura. Farmer Nasirul Islam of Rautara village under Magura sadar upazila deserves this glorious credit.

Nasirul said he collected seedlings of nutless kul from Magura horticulture centre which were imported from India. Then he planted 2,000 seedlings covering his 4 acres of land in last March.

His total investment was Tk 400,000 and he is expecting to earn Tk 2.0 million.

The trees flowered in last August while turned into fruits in last October. The fruits will be matured in December next. Ripe Kul is in mixed colour with green and red. The Kul is also more delicious compared to common variety.

Magura Deputy Director Shushanta Kumar Pramanik of DAE said we are proud of Nasirul that he has become successful in producing nutless Kul here for the first time .
