Man killed by village heads in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Feb 5 (UNB): A man was beaten to death allegedly by village heads at Nagdah village in Alamdanga upazila on Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Shaheed Hossain,46, son of late Aftab Mandol of the village.

Police said Sad Hossain and Ali Hossain, sons of Apil Mandol, of the village and their neighbour Chhoton had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.

Later, the village heads launched an attack on their house. At one stage, they swooped on Shaheed, cousin of Sad and Ali, and beat him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
