Man to die for killing wife in Bogura

BOGURA, Oct 31 (BSS): A court here on Thursday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in Shahjahanpur upazila of the district in 2005.

District and Sessions Judge Jalal Uddin handed down the verdict to Chand Mia, hailed from Manikdipa Padmapara of the upazila.

The court also fined him Taka 20,000, said court inspector Mosaddek Hossain.

According to the prosecution, on September 25 in 2005, convict Chand Mia strangled his wife Fulbanu to death over family feud.

Following the murder, Fulbanu's father filed a case with Shahjahanpur Police Station the next day. Police pressed the charge sheet against Chand Mia.

Testifying witnesses and evidences the court passed the order in presence of Chand Mia.
