Mother, daughter die from electrocution

JOYPURHAT, July 15 (UNB): A woman and her daughter were electrocuted in Molamgari village under Kalai upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Swapna Begum, 33 and her daughter Shimu Akhter, 04, of Molamgari-hat of the area.

Quoting locals and family members, Kalai Police Station officer-in-charge Md Abdul Latif Khan said Swapna got electrocuted when she went to hang wet clothes on an iron wire which was electrified during rain last night.

Shimu got electrocuted when she touched her mother.

Locals recovered them and took them to the Kalai Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead.
