Mother, son among three killed in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Sept 05 (UNB): Three people, including a 35-year-old woman and her nine-year-old son, were killed by miscreants at Boro Ghagutia village in Homna Upazila of Cumilla district on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Mahmuda Begum, wife of Shah Paran, her son Shahab Uddin and niece Tisha Akter, 14.

Quoting local people Joynal Abedin, officer-in-charge of Homna Police Station, said local people found the bodies of the trio lying on the bed and informed police on Thursday morning.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to the local hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police suspected miscreants swooped on the house on Wednesday night and strangled Mahmuda, Shahab and Tisha dead. The bodies bore injury marks on their heads.
