Munshiganj road accident kills two

MUNSHIGANJ, Mar 10 (BSS): Two elderly pedestrians were killed and two others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway in Chanderbari area under Loahajang upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Abdur Rahman Sheikh, 70, and Parosh Ali Dewan, 65, residents of Purbo Shimulia village under the upazila.

Traffic police said the accident took place when a bus ploughed through a roadside shop in the area around 8.45 am after overtaking another vehicle, leaving Abdur Rahman dead on the spot and injuring others who were standing in front of the shop.

The wounded were taken to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared Parosh dead. The other injured were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
