Newborns, students to get health cards in Sylhet city

SYLHET, Feb 05: Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) would soon start distribution of health cards among the newborns and students of different institutions in the city.

It would help providing regular health check-up, tests and services to the target groups in every ward in future, the SCC Mayor said. Besides, we are working on improving the health condition of newborns in the city wards, he added.

The Mayor was addressing a views-exchange meeting with some veteran Bangladesh-origin physicians, living in UK and US at his office on Sunday evening. He also sought advice and other support from the veteran NRB physicians.

New York Medical College's Urology department's head and chair Professor Saduzzaman Chowdhury, Professor of Nephrology Drexel University Zia Uddin Ahmed and General Secretary of the Doctors Association, UK Dr. Mosharraf Hossain assured their all out assistance in improving thje state of health in Sylhet city areas.

SCC's Secretary Mohammad Badrul Haque, Chief Medical Officer Zahedul Islam Sumon and others including officials of the Sylhet Kidney Foundation were also present.
