Man electrocuted in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, June 19 : A man died after being electrocuted in Sarabaria area under Kaliganj upazila of the district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Jahangir Hossain, 35, son of Akbar Biswas, a resident of Sarabaria area of the upazila. Jahangir came in contact with an electric wire while he was starting an electric motor for watering his seedbed around 12.30 pm. — BSS

Worker dies after falling from

roof in Noakhali

NOAKHALI, June 19 : A construction worker died after falling from the roof of an under construction building in Companiganj upazila of the district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as M. Alauddin, 37, son of Mohammad Ullah, a resident of Boro Bari of Gazirbagh village under Batiya union in Kabirhat upazila of the district. According to locals, the incident took place around 12.15 pm when he was working on the roof of an under construction building in Hospital Road area of Basurhat municipality and suddenly fell down from the roof due to carelessness. — BSS

Two held with Phensedyl in Dinajpur

RANGPUR, June 19 : Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers and seized 397 bottles of contraband Phensedyl from Dainur Dakshinpara (Bochapukur) village of Kotwali police station in Dinajpur on Wednesday afternoon. "Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 from Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13 conducted a raid in the area, seized the Phensedyl and arrested two persons from the spot," said a press release issued on Thursday. — BSS
