Man electrocuted in Jhenaidah
JHENAIDAH, Sept 13 : A man was electrocuted at Garabaria village under Maheshpur upazila of the district on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Atiar Dafadar, 45, son of Fakir Dafadar of Garabaria Uttarpara of the upazila. Atiar got electrocuted while working at his cousin's house. Locals rescued him and took him to Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. — BSS

get rice in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Sept 13 : A total of 334 river erosion-affected families of Holdia union under Saghata upazila in the district received rice assistance from the government on Friday. The rice was distributed from the temporary office of the Union Parishad (UP), with each family receiving 30 kilograms as general relief. UP Chairman Rafiqul Islam formally distributed the rice among the affected families. — BSS
GPA-5 holders in SSC accorded
reception in Tangail
TANGAIL, Sept 13 : More than 150 meritorious students who achieved GPA-5 in SSC and equivalent examinations this year were accorded a reception at Mirzapur upazila of the district on Saturday. The upazila and municipal units of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) organised the programme at Mirzapur Shaheed Bhabani Prasad Saha Government College Auditorium this afternoon. Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui, former lawmaker and Children's Affairs Secretary of the BNP National Executive Committee, was present as the chief guest and handed over crests to the students. — BSS
