SYLHET, Sept 11: With an improving scenario on the overall dengue situation, five patients were admitted to different hospitals in the Sylhet division including the Sylhet city during the last 24 hours.
Of the patients admitted in 24 hours till this morning, three were admitted into the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) while none was admitted in Moulvibazar district or Sunamganj districts.
One each was admitted into the Habiganj district hospital and to Sylhet district hospital. There is no admission of dengue patients in Sunamganj district for more than a week, officials added.
However, some seven patients were admitted on the previous day.
Director of Health, Sylhet Debpada Roy told this correspondent this afternoon the number of dengue patients has come down below 10 daily for the few days. Specially, it has shown much improvement in Moulvibazar and Sunamganj as well as in Sylhet.
He said 847 were so far been diagnosed as dengue patients in Sylhet division and 813 of them had been released from the hospitals after being cured.
Our Roving Correspondent writes: The number of dengue patients has come down in the districts in Rajshahi division.
Civil Surgeon Dr Gawsul Azim Chowdhury of Bogura district said dengue fever has been infected six persons in the last 24 hours. Some 45 are taking treatment across the district. A total 986 people have already affected with the fever.
In Pabna General Hospital, some 24 dengue patients were taking treatment across the region. Dengue has been infected 13 in the last 24 hours. A total 617 people have already affected with the fever.
Civil Surgeon Dr Zahid Nazrul Choudhury of Chapainawabganj said one person has been infected with dengue fever in the last 24 hours. Some six persons are taking treatment across the district. A total 291 people have already been affected by the fever.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Md Zahidul Islam of Siraganj district said dengue fever has infected 10 persons in the last 24 hours. Some 36 are taking treatment across the district. A total 719 people have already affected with the fever.
Civil Surgeon Dr Shams Uddin of Joypurhat said dengue fever has infected one person in the last 24 hours. Some five are taking treatment across the district. A total 89 people have already affected with the fever.
Civil Surgeon Dr Md Azizul Islam Civil of Natore said dengue fever has infected two persons in the last 24 hours. Some three persons are taking treatment across the district. Two new patients have been admitted in Lalpur sadar health complex. A total 192 people have already affected with the fever.
Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mumunul Haque of Naogaon said dengue fever has been infected one petson in the last 24 hours. Some two persons are taking treatment across the district. A total 247 people have already affected with the fever.
Our Tangail correspondent adds: The number of dengue patients has increased in Tangail in the last 24 hours, civil surgeon office sources said.
Last week in the district dengue affected patients were only four. But in the current week during the last twenty four hours 13 people were affected by dengue.
All the affected 13 patients belong from sadar upazila. All of them were admitted to Tangail General Hospital, sources said.
Civil surgeon office sources also said some 13 patients have been infected here in the last 20 hours; some 29 are taking treatment at the Tangail General Hospital.
A total 620 people have already been affected with the fever in the district source added.
