One killed by neighbour in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, Oct 13 (UNB): A sexagenarian man was killed in an attack allegedly by his neighbour over the demarcation of their homesteads at Tabakpur Purirpathal village in Ulipur upazila on Monday.
The victim was identified as Nawab Ali, 65.
Jamiruddin, officer-in-charge of Ulipur Police Station, said Nawab Ali and Mahfuz, son of Abdus Sattar, had long been at loggerheads over the demarcation of their homesteads.
As a sequel to the enmity, an altercation broke out between Mahfuz and Nawab Ali over the dispute around 9 am.
At one stage, Mahfuz along with his associates swooped on Nawab Ali and beat him mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, police detained three people-Asgar Ali, 45, Enamul, 20, and Jobeda Begum, 28 - in connection with the murder.
