One to die for killing man in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, Apr 08 (BSS): A court here on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing a man in Mohanganj upazila of the district in 2009.

District and Sessions Judge Md. Hafizur Rahman pronounced the verdict on Tuesday

afternoon.

The court also fined convict Md. Raja Mia, 22, son of M Faiz Uddin of Baniajura village of the upazila, Taka 50,000, a court official said.

According to prosecution story,

convict Raja chopped Anwarul Islam alias Anwar, son of Md. Fazlul Karim, of Baniajura village, indiscriminately on June 21, 2009.

Later, Anwar succumbed to his injuries at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Anwar's father Md. Fazlul Karim

filed a murder case against four people.

The court

also acquitted three persons as the charges brought against them were not proven.
