Panchagarh cultivators eye bumper Boro output

PANCHAGARH, Mar 25 (BSS): Farmers are expecting bumper Boro paddy yield due to favorable climatic condition during this season.
District DAE officials on Sunday said bumper Boro production is being expected because of availability of agro-inputs such as fertilisers, pesticides and favorable climate condition.
They said farmers are getting all kind of agro-inputs in reasonable price.
While visiting different Boro fields, this correspondent found that growers are now engaged in weeding, sprinkling urea fertiliser and nursing the cropland.
DAE officials said the target of Boro cultivation has been fixed on 80,500 hectares of land with production target 3, 36,000 tons this year.
Bipul Chandra, a farmer of Shahapara village under Debiganj upazila said he cultivated Boro on one acre of land and the plants are growing excellently, expecting a bumper production.
