Rangpur, Satkhira road accidents kill four

A total of four persons were killed in separate road accidents in Ranpur and Satkhira on Tuesday, report agencies.

In Rangpur, three members of a family have been killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a bus while on the way to an SSC exam centre in Rangpur's Kaunia Upazila.

The accident occurred around 9:45am on Tuesday near the Bailey Bridge area, according to Kaunia Police Station chief Abdul Latif.

The victims was identified as Rubina Begum, 32, her son Rahmat Ali, and her niece Afsana Begum Sneha, 16.

Latif said Sneha was an SSC candidate this year. Her exam centre was at Kaunia Mofazzal Government High School.

The three were heading to the centre on a motorcycle when a bus coming from the opposite direction ploughed into the two-wheeler, leading to their deaths, according to Latif.

In Satkhira, a teenage boy was killed as a trolley hit his motorbike in Budhata Bazar under Asashuni upazila of Satkhira district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, 18, son of Jamal Uddin, a resident of Beula village of the upazila.

The accident took place around 10 am when a trolley hit a motorcycle, leaving its rider Hridoy injured critically, said Shamsul Arefin, OC of Asashuni Police Station.
