SYLHET, Oct 28: Work for repair and reconstruction of 27 important roads in different upazilas of Sunamganj district will begin soon. Tender process would be started in a week with a target to start the physical works at an earliest on these roads, severely damaged by the repeated floods this year, official sources at LGED informed recently.
The works should be completed by March 15 since the sufferings of the common people of the rural areas had already gone extreme for months together, the officials added.
A total amount of Tk 136.736 million would be spent for repair and reconstruction of these roads linking the rural markets with upazila headquarters.
The roads include Joykolosh to Noakhali road, Dargapasha union council road starting from Pagla-Jogonnathpur, Ghoradumbur-Pithapoisi road from Sunamganj-Sylhet road, Joykolosh-Ujanigaon road, Minabazar-Piprakandi road, Daorai-Sheora road, Selimganj-Jamalganj-Fenarbak union council road, Narsinghaour-Chhatak road, Helipad-Kamlabaj road from Jamalganj upazila complex, Ballabpur-Charmohalla road in Chhatak, Daudpur-Manikdair road in Derai upazila, Jamalganj-Joynagar-Noagaon bazar road, Dharmapasha-Golakpur road, Karenterbazar to Dhanpur union council office road in Biswambharpur, Keshobpur-Rasulpur-Tukerbazar-Konaulla bazaar road in Jogonnathpur, Kathoir-Joynagar road, Noyabandar bazaar to Daorai union council office road in in Jogonnatghpur, Porganabazar road from Pagla-Jogonnathpur road, Betganj-Rampur-Khagura road in Sunamganj sadar, Baliura-Banglabazar road in Doarabazar, Dharmapasha union council office to Maishakanda road via Badshaganj, Rahutola road from Shulla upazila sadar and Tahirpur Sadar to Badaghat road.
Bidding would be floated in a week to repair all these important roads, the official informed.
