Road crashes kill three in Faridpur, Rajshahi

FARIDPUR, Mar 12 (UNB): Two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured as their vehicle hit a roadside tree at Lohartek village in Charbhadrasan upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Masud Munshi, son of Rashid Munshi and Mehedi Hasan Mithu, son of Wahab Sheikh while the injured is Arshed Bepari, son of Kalam Bepari.
Azad Khan, chairman of Charbhadrasan union parishad, said Masud and Mithu along with Arshed went to Faridpur Police Lines to know their written results of constable recruitment test
The accident took place as the rider lost control over the wheels around 10:30pm and hit the tree while they were returning from Faridpur Police Lines, leaving them critically injured.
Later, they were rushed to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared the duo dead.
Meanwhile, in Rajshahi, a field worker of a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) was killed as a bus ran over him in Katkhali area of the city on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Ayub Ali, the field worker of Association for Community Development (ACD), and son of Mozahar Ali, a resident of Chak Kapasia village.
Mehedi Hasan, officer-in-charge of Katakhali Police Station, said that the accident took place around 9pm when the bus from opposite direction hit Ayub, leaving him dead on the spot.
