RU poised for a full-fledged physical education dept

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Feb 5: After long days of waiting, Rajshahi University (RU) is going to get a full-fledged physical education department (PED) that may usher in a new horizon in the sports sector of the northern part of the country.

The physical education department is going to become a full-fledged one following final approval of the university syndicate.

Earlier RU Physical Exercise Department (PED) was responsible for all sports activities at the campus since its inception in 1957. At the time of starting there were only four members on the staff.

The students of the Rajshahi University (RU) have been suffering multifarious problems in getting essential sport facilities at the university due to lack of a full-fledged department.

Dr. Mostafa Kamal, a teacher of IBS said that a full-fledged physical education department in RU will play a vital role in making standard players from the northern region.
