A total of four prsons were killed in separate road accidents in Savar and Jhenaidah road accidents on Monday, reports agencies
In Savar, three people died and two others injured when a bus rammed into a private car on the Dhaka-Aricha highway at Baliarpur in Savar on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Ibrahim, Nazimuddin, a former member of the Baliarpur Union Parishad, and Mujibur Rahman, driver of the private car, said Jewel Mia, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station,
The accident happened in the afternoon in front of Baliarpur CNG Filling Station when the bus hit the private car, leaving the three dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment, added the OC.
In Jhenaidah, an elderly man was killed after being hit by a motorcycle on the Shailkupa-Hatfazilpur road in the MP Mor area under Shailkupa upazila here on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Jabed Ali Sheikh, 80, son of Zaker Ali Sheikh, a resident of Bhandaripara village in Nityanandapur union under Shailkupa upazila.
A motorcycle hit Jabed while he was crossing the road around 9:30m, leaving him seriously injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station Masum Khan said.
He was taken to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, OC said.
The body was sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
