Speakers focus on vocational training for youths

GAIBANDHA, Oct 03 (BSS): Speakers at an event on Tuesday underscored the need for providing vocational training and technical jobs to the youths to build unemployment free society.

They emphasized for creating working opportunities to the unskilled educated youths through providing them need base vocational trainings on different trades to push forward the nation towards desired development.

They expressed this view while addressing a roundtable discussion on vocational education and job placement in light engineering sector at the conference room of Gaibandha Technical Training Centre (GTTC) on Tuesday.

RDRS Bangladesh arranged the function with technical support of Practical Action under the project of Securing Employment and Economic Development around Jute Textile and Light Engineering Sector in North-West Bangladesh funded by European Union.

President of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Shajada Anwarul Quadir addressed the function as the chief guest and principal of Gaibandha government Technical School and College (GGTSC) Engineer M Siddiqur Rahman was present as the special guest.
