Student drowns in Dharla river while taking bath

LALMONIRHAT, Sept 24 (BSS): A school student drowned while taking bath in the Dharla river on Tuesday in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat district.

The victim was identified as Shahid Mia (15), son of Fayzar Rahman of Shiyalkhowa village in Aditmari upazila of the district.

Office-in-charge of Patgram thana Mizanur Rahman told the news agency that, "Shahid Mia drowned when he was taking bath in the Dharala river Later, locals recovered his body".

"As there were no complaints, the body was handed over to the family", he added.
