Swapnatori Park in Cox's Bazar an exquisite entertainment spot

COX'S BAZAR, Dec 05: Not in the sea, but on the top of a green hill, a ship lies conspicuously stationary. Its name is Swapnatori.

The nearly 5,000 square-foot Swapnatori Park developed in the surroundings of the ship in Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar has drawn everyone's attention as a new entertainment spot.

The park that extends over an area of three acres is attracting a rising number of visitors.

Swapnatori is located on the top of a hill adjacent to Rashidnagar area, 10 kilometers north of Ramu upazila headquarters, on the east side of the Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway.

The beautiful Swapnatori Park developed by the Ramu upazila administration has exceptional entertainment facilities for people of all ages, including children.

The Swapnatori ship was inaugurated on January 10, 2023.

Insiders said that this huge ship measuring about 5,000 square feet was positioned there by keeping the hill completely intact.

The ship's placement atop the hill has given the park a very much striking appearance.

In addition to entertainment, Swapnatori Park provides restaurant and residential hotel services.

Local visitor Sadek Mahmud said that Swapnatori Park is a matter of pride for the tourism industry of Ramu and Cox's Bazar.

The environmental setting of the area has changed due to the park. Hundreds of visitors come here every day and enjoy entertainment facilities.

Tourist Sakib Noor, who came to Cox's Bazar from Dhaka, said, "I was going to Cox's Bazar; on the way, this ship suddenly came into view along the highway. I stopped the car and came to this ship named Swapnatori, I liked it very much. This park is very charming in a clean and quiet environment."

Local resident Khorshed Helaly said that Swapnotori Park has created a new horizon in Ramu's tourism.

This park started its journey about one and a half years ago and is now known to everyone. Local people are getting entertainment facilities easily and at a low cost.

He thinks that this park will substantially contribute to Cox's Bazar's tourism development in the near future.

Rumel Ahmed, managing director of Swapnatori Park, said, there is no other attractive tourist destination in Cox's Bazar than the vast seashore.

Swapnatori Park started its journey keeping in mind the

entertainment of tourists and local people. The park is receiving a huge response in just one and a half years of its opening.

There is no special entertainment facility centered on the mountains in Cox's Bazar.

Rumel Ahmed said that now around 100 visitors come to visit the park every day. The number will increase further once children's exams are over. Most of the visitors are locals.

Rumel also said that the entry fee for Swapnatori Park is only 10 taka per person. It is completely free for young children. There are various entertainment items for children here, including interesting toys, swings, flower gardens, selfie zones and seating areas.

Ramu Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md Rashedul Islam said Swapnatori Park is a new opportunity for tourism in Cox's Bazar. Where there was nothing but mountains before, now a beautiful entertainment centre is adorning the place.

He added tourists come to Cox's Bazar to see the sea and mountains. But most tourists enjoy the sea more than mountains. Therefore, this park has been developed as a source of entertainment in the mountains.
