Thakurgaon land clash leaves one dead

THAKURGAON, Mar 27 (UNB): A man was killed in a land related dispute at Madhya Harinarayanpur in Sadar upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Muktojur Rahman, 50.

Quoting victim's family members, Ashiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said that there was a long standing dispute between Muktojor and his neighbours Parul and Alam over 15 decimals of land.

Parul went to build a house on the disputed land in the morning.

As Muktajur obstructed them, the rival group attacked him and confined him to a room of their house.

Later, they beat him up mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.

The injured was taken to Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

On information, police recovered the body and arrested Parul and Pelu Mohammad.
