Three lives lost on roads in two dists

Three people were killed on Saturday in road accidents in two districts, reports BSS.
In Tangail two people were killed when a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Ashekpur Bypass area of the town on morning.
The deceased are CNG driver Sohrab Hossain, 55, a resident of Pathalia area under Kalihati upazila and passenger Pradeep Pal, 40, son of Sunil Pal of Karatia area of Sadar upazila.
The incident took place on the Dhaka-Tangail highway around 9 am when a speedy bus hit the CNG-run auto rickshaw while it was crossing the road, leaving its driver and passenger injured critically, said M Saikat Hossin, sergeant of Elenga Highway Thana.
The injured were sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Sohrab Hossain dead, he added.
Later, Pradeep Pal succumbed to his injuries on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
In Manikganj a man was killed when a truck hit his bicycle on Beutha road in Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased is Chand Mia, 35, son of late Shukkur Ali of Char Ghosta village under Nabagram union of the upazila.
Investigation officer of Manikganj Police Station sub-inspector Deb Dulal Dey said the accident occurred in the area around 11 am when a brick-laden truck knocked the bicycle from behind, leaving its rider dead on the spot.
Police seized the truck and arrested the driver and helper, he said.
A case was filed with the Manikganj Police Station in this connection.
