Truck, human hauler collision kills one in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, June 20 (UNB): A man was killed and five others were injured in a collision between a truck and a human hauler (Mahindra) at Ashkarpur on the Satkhira-Kaliganj road in Debhata upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim (50), son of Kefayetullah, a resident of Raghunathpur village in Kaliganj upazila of the district.

Officer-in-charge of Debhata Police Station Zakaria Sheikh said a Kaliganj-bound truck collided head-on with a three-wheeler human hauler coming from the opposite direction in the area at about 10:30 am, leaving the human hauler passenger, Karim, dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.

Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

A case was filed in this connection.
