Two die in Badarganj, Panchagarh road accidents

RANGPUR, Jan 31 (BSS): A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Taxerhat Petrol Pump area under Badarganj upazila here this afternoon.

"The deceased was identified as Sirajul Islam, 16, son of Abdul Khaleque of village Mollapara under Ramnathpur union," said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badarganj police station Md Akhteruzzaman.

The OC said the accident occurred when a running motorcycle with three people hit a roadside tree of Taxerhat-Badarganj road, killing Sirajul on the spot and injuring two others.

Local people rescued critically injured Rokan, 18, and Milan, 18, and sent them to Badarganj upazila health complex.

"Later, the youths were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital following deterioration of their health conditions, the OC said, adding that the body was handed over to his relatives.

Meanwhile, in Panchagarh, a boy was killed in a road accident in Vojonpur area on Tetulia- Panchagarh high way under Tetulia upazila on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Amjat Hossein 15, son of Anichur Rahman of Atarokari village in Tetulia upazila. He worked at Jamcon factory as laborer.

Police said the accident took place in the area when a stone laden truck crushed into Hossain while he was returning home from his factory on bicycle after finishing work, leaving him dead on the spot.

The truck was seized by locals but its driver managed to flee the scene.
